Do you ever think about that if you are a Christian? Does it ever cross your mind that if you accepted Jesus as your Savior and now are Born Again, this is not your home. Our home is Heaven. If you truly accepted Christ into your life, not just saying it but actually believing it in your heart, putting Him FIRST in your life you are now a citizen of Heaven.
We are citizens of another world—HEAVEN. We are on a journey right now in this world but we will be going home. We (or most of us) have never been to our real home yet but someday soon we shall go.
Do you ever wonder what it will be like? Who we will see and meet? A lot has been written about Heaven and what it will look like. The Bible does talk about Heaven and tells some of the things we can expect. Exciting isn’t it?
The Bible also talks about what will not be there. It tells us there will be no anxiety or fear there. Why? Because God does not have the spirits of anxiety or fear so they can not exist there. To me, that is Excellent news! But it also brings up the question of why I tolerate those spirits here on my journey?
God did not give me the spirit of anxiety or the spirit of fear so where did they come from and why do I put up with them? They sneak in from things we experience. They move in with the journey of life. Often we don’t even know they are there until something big triggers them to jump up.
They, unfortunately, move in from a very young age for most of us just in the circumstances of the world around us. They sneak in and build forts—strongholds in our lives. BUT GOD.
God knows and He provides: Matthew 6:25–27 (TEV) This is why I tell you; do not be worried about the food and drink you need in order to stay alive or about clothes for your body. After all, isn’t life worth more than food? And isn’t the body worth more than clothes? Look at the birds: they do not plant seeds, gather a harvest, and put it in barns; yet your Father in heaven takes care of them! Aren’t you worth much more than birds? Can any of you live a bit longer by worrying about it? And why worry about clothes? Look how the wildflowers grow: they do not work or make clothes for themselves, But I tell you that not even King Solomon with all his wealth had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers. It is God who clothes the wild grass—grass that is here today and gone tomorrow, burned up in the oven. Won’t He be all the more sure to clothe you? What little faith you have! So do not start worrying: Where will my food come from? or my drink? my clothes? (These are the things the pagans are always concerned about.) Your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things. Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and He will provide you with all these other things. So do not worry about tomorrow; it will have enough worries of its own. There is no need to add to the troubles each day brings.
Who of us worries? Right now I am sure you are saying or at least thinking, who is she kidding? WE ALL WORRY! Our whole world is set up to worry right now. There is so much to worry about that it is epidemic in this country and around the world. Even little children worry. Their lives, like our own, are full of anxiety and fear.
Oh, us of little faith. I am one of those on many days. I am very thankful, Jesus understands and stands by me anyway. I am forgiven. We of “little faith” believe in the big stuff—Jesus came, he died and rose again to save me BUT…
That BUT is a little thing that is a very BIG DEAL. We KNOW we can’t save ourselves so we look for and find a savior in Jesus. However, we “think” we can handle the small stuff on our own. You know what I am talking about. We “think” that by planning and worrying and doing this or that we can maneuver things to suit us. It makes us not much different than the world; only they don’t KNOW enough or care enough to look for and accept Jesus to save them.
It is a BIG DEAL to God, to the Father. It means that we don’t trust Him to take care of us. It means our minds are still in self-mode, not Christ-mode. We of little faith still have not “cast our cares on Him” we have not “given Him our burden and taken His”. We worry, we fuss, we plan, and it falls apart and we cry out “why me Lord?”
BIG FAITH PEOPLE— stay on their knees and ASK GOD FIRST, they listen and obey, and they learn to wait in Peace. They stay in the Word of God, Love God with All their Hearts and others as themselves. They Trust and Obey and leave “ALL” the stuff in God’s capable hands.
Some days I am a BIG FAITH person. Some days I am a little faith person. However—ALL DAYS I AM A SAVED BY GRACE PERSON. I am the righteousness of God through Christ.
